THOMAS FUN KARO - The Thomas Fun Karo porcelain items have a matt, handcrafted look reminiscent of stoneware. This matt look can show signs of cutlery abrasion (cutting marks) after use, especially with the lighter “Karo Light” decor. Cutlery wear is the mechanical abrasion of metal on the porcelain surface. As the materials move against each other, the softer material, in this case the cutlery, wears away and marks appear on the harder material, the glaze of the porcelain. Dark marks can therefore form on the glaze after repeated use, particularly on plates and dishes on which food is cut with a knife. The glaze remains undamaged. Cutlery residue is not a sign of poor quality. To minimize cutlery abrasion, we recommend always using sharp, professionally sharpened knives.
